Does your assessment mapping document show a real picture of what the assessment says it will cover?

Assessment mapping is the cornerstone of a robust, compliant assessment tool that covers all of the unit of competency evidence requirements. It’s one of the first things an auditor or validator will look at when assessing the quality of an RTO’s assessment tools.

But unfortunately, assessment mapping is not always done well - giving a misleading sense of actual unit coverage.

Join this session to see the do’s and don’t’s of assessment mapping documents. We’ll look at:

  • The principles of robust, accurate mapping of VET assessment tools to the unit requirements

  • Factors that undermine the compliance of the tool

  • How to ensure your mapping document does what it is intended to do

  • Common errors in mapping processes - and how to avoid them

The Assessment Tool Design Master Class series draws on Michelle’s extensive experience as a VET assessment development and pre-use validation expert. The same expertise called on by some of VET's biggest providers to support quality in their own operations.

Pitched at intermediate level to support people who develop and/or validate assessment tools, the series brings us six (6) sessions about the do’s and don’ts of vital components:

  1. Assessment mapping document

  2. Assessment marking guide design

  3. Observation checklists

  4. Knowledge evidence assessment

  5. Performance evidence assessment (including Foundation Skills)

  6. Instruments to allow evidence collected by other parties for assessor judgement

Each session will run for approximately 45-60 minutes including audience Q&A
