The Validation Plan - Planning for Compliance
Recorded Wednesday 31 Mar 2021
Validation is a must - as is the plan for how your RTO is going to do it.
The Standards for RTOs 2015 require every RTO to implement a plan for “ongoing systematic validation of assessment practices and judgements ...for each training product on the RTO’s scope of registration”.
The Standards say the validation plan must outline the:
Timing of validation activities across the five year cycle
Training products that will be validated
People who will be involved in the validation activities
Way the validation results will be recorded and followed up
If your RTO was registered in April 2015, you are now in the start of the second mandatory 5-year validation cycle which means at least 50% of training products on your scope of registration must be completed by the end of 2023. This also means that your RTO must have the documented plan in place now for how validation is going to roll out across 2021-2025.
Watch this session with Michelle Charlton for an overview of how to construct the mandatory five year plan for validation.
We’ll show you:
How to understand the difference between different types of validation (and where moderation fits in)
A framework for deciding which training products on scope need to be validated, and when
Ways to calculate the risk of a training product - which is essential, as the Standards say relative risks of all training products on scope must be considered for the plan
How to document who will be involved in the validation process
What to do with the results of the validation activity
Each registrant will receive a complimentary copy of a Risk Analysis checklist
