Thursday 31 July 2025 | 12pm AEST | Presented by Allison Miller
To ensure trainers and assessors maintain their benchmarks for professional performance and quality VET outcomes, the Standards for RTOs mandate that VET educators must stay current in their training and assessment practices.
It is recommended that VET educators perform regular self-evaluations of their own performance against VET teacher capability frameworks to ensure that training and assessment practices are effectively updated.
VET educators also need to use a range of different strategies that will provide opportunities to continuously adjust and improve teaching and assessment practices as required.
Join this session to find out what these strategies are and how to effectively use various mechanisms to get the information needed for ongoing improvement.
Why is this important?
Better educators mean better outcomes for learners.
Taking a learner-centred approach when self evaluating their own teaching and assessment practices also enables educators to incorporate more effective learning and teaching activities which in turn, increases the likelihood of their learners’ success.
