Frame it so they understand the why and the how

For students to be engaged with and successful in their learning, they must understand the why and the how: “why am I learning this?” and “how does this connect with what I already know and how will I use it?”

In order to deliver on the why and the how, educators must know how to present information in such a way that it becomes explicit. This also requires them to shift into the fifth of the 5 Levels of Learning.

This session introduces us to the Continuum of Explicit Teaching, the 5 Levels of Learning, and how together within the Explicit Teaching Framework, we can pique learners’ interest, maintain that, and transform it into sustained learning outcomes.
