As an RTO Administrator, your role is to help ensure all of the RTO’s operations comply with the Standards and other legislative requirements. It may involve aspects linked to:

  • Compliance

  • Student management

  • Data management

  • Processes and scheduling 

This session unpacks key role requirements for an RTO Administrator and will show:

  • How to support learners in making informed choices about their chosen qualification and will cover: electives, credit transfer (CT) and recognition of prior learning (RPL) initial discussion

  • When and how a unit can be imported into a qualification

  • When a CT can be granted

  • How to verify a CT if pre-2015

  • Guidance on providing career advice to learners

  • An overview of the Standards for RTOs (current and revised) and the changes an RTO will implement and how this affects admin 

  • The role admin plays in ensuring compliance across enrolment, progress and completion

  • Typical tasks around the stages of the students’ journey

This session builds on the ‘VET Sector Essentials for Newcomers’ but can also standalone as PD for staff who have been in their role for a while and are looking to advance and learn more and/or to confirm current understanding.
