Sometimes an assessor does not collect the evidence in a claim for competency - and that’s ok

But designing tools that ensure sufficient, valid evidence is collected by other parties is a task that not everyone is ok with how to do.

Join this session to see the do’s and don’ts of designing VET assessment instruments that allow collection of evidence by other parties. See the considerations for what makes an effective tool that will supply sufficient, valid evidence for the assessor to review. We’ll look at:

  • Principles of assessment evidence collected by other parties

  • Factors that undermine the compliance of the tool

  • Understanding how to include instruments that allow for sufficient, valid evidence to be collected by people other than the credentialled assessor

  • Common errors to avoid when designing this type of assessment tool

The Assessment Tool Design Master Class series draws on Michelle’s extensive experience as a VET assessment development and pre-use validation expert. The same expertise called on by some of VET's biggest providers to support quality in their own operations.

Pitched at intermediate level to support people who develop and/or validate assessment tools, the series brings us six (6) sessions about the do’s and don’ts of vital components:

  1. Assessment mapping document

  2. Assessment marking guide design

  3. Observation checklists

  4. Knowledge evidence assessment

  5. Performance evidence assessment (including Foundation Skills)

  6. Instruments to allow evidence collected by other parties for assessor judgement

Each session will run for approximately 45-60 minutes including audience Q&A
