Hybrid Learning 101
Thursday 9 Sept 2027 | 11am AEST | Presented by Wendy Palmer
Hybrid learning is about more than putting some learning online and keeping the rest in the classroom. Done well, it brings together different ways of learning so that each mode has a clear purpose and learners experience them as one connected journey.
For trainers and assessors, the challenge is deciding what works best where. When is face-to-face time most valuable? What benefits from live online interaction? And what can learners do independently, at a time and pace that works for them?
This session explores practical ways to make those choices and create hybrid learning that is flexible, connected and manageable. We’ll look at how in-person, synchronous online and asynchronous learning can support different purposes, from introducing information and encouraging reflection to collaboration, practice, feedback and application.
Through practical examples, you’ll explore how to create a clear rhythm across different modes, make transitions between them feel purposeful, support learners participating in different ways, and avoid simply duplicating activities or adding more work for trainers and learners.
