Do you know what's changing with Training Packages and units of competency?
This PD will take you through some of the "behind-the-scenes" work to produce what we see on the national register of VET (training.gov.au or "TGA").
Uncover the facts about the Training Package Organising Framework (TPOF) and some of the changes we can expect to see as new training products roll out from the Jobs and Skills Councils (JSCs). Importantly, this session frames the new TPOF in terms of the mechanics of assessment tool development and how instructional designers, compliance personnel and assessment writers can unpack units developed on the new Applied Skills and Knowledge (ASK) templates

- A basic overview of the Training Package Training Product development process
- An introduction to the TPOF, including facts about the TPOF and overview of changes to Training Product templates for JSC use
- An overview of the new ASK template for units of competency and a comparison with the Application, Elements and Performance Criteria template
- Ideas for mapping an ASK unit when developing assessment tools
- Handouts showing draft new units and a comparison of a unit on an existing template versus proposed ASK template
